Question: How do i know if my bmw m3 2003 is e46 or whatever i thought it was just m3?

Bmw bases this on the year of production. i own a 1992 and it is an e36. e36 year range is 1992 through 1998. in 1999 they redeveloped the 3 series cars with new designs and features and that is why it has the e46 tag on it. those M3's are badass cars. enjoy

Every bmw made since the 70s has an E-- code. E46 is the code for the 99-05 3 series body style so every 00-06 M3 is an E46 (the m3s came in a year late and stayed an extra year)
