/ If you are worried about the snow, depress the DSC (suspension control) button, and it will drive like any other rear-wheel drive vehicle.

Very badly. In rain, the M is very dangerous to drive. All RWD cars are slippery in rain. I once drove a RWD Porsche Boxster in rain and it kept sliding around, even when going in a straight line. In snow. No RWD car can drive in snow no matter how hard you will try. the car will not move from its spot. I would get the Audi S line or RS line Quattro. The M is slightly faster than the S line on dry pavement, but the Audi S line and RS line both are faster than the M in rain, snow ice, dirt, gravel, and grass.

I don't think "car and driver " took the car into grass and tested speed. The m3 will do fine in the snow it has dsc it will prevent you to over rev and spin out. you can put the petal to the metal and rev the car all the way and it will not spin out if its losing traction the dsc will keep flashing and unless you let off the gas or your tires hook. bmw has one of the better traction control. in the snow an awd car with beat the m any day but dry street the m will crush the a4 sline all day on launch and top speed. t

It will not handle as well as a front wheel drive or all wheel drive vehicle. If you put snow tires on, it will make it a lot safer than the normal, slicker tires. I have a bmw, rwd, and the snow tires make all the difference in the world, but you still have to be careful, the weight is all in the front, so you should also put something heavy in the back, like a sandbag or something...

The m3 is a deathtrap in the snow, and way too nice to be driven in the snow anyway. put it in the garage with a cover, and buy an inexpensive 4x4 jeep. Save the m for the sunny days.

Set of snow tires on all 4 wheels on 17 " wheels, the car would handle better than anything out there. It truly is the best handling car in any weather condition. These cars comes with Z rated summer tires anyway. You are going to need extra set of tires to drive in winter so go with snow tires and your problems are over.

I own a 2002 M3 i dont like driving it in the rain or snow, but when i have to, it handles fine, like one of the other people said you can floor it and it wont spin out, ive tried many times even while turning, the same in the snow. I havent experienced the car on ice yet tho.... but as with any vehicle they suck on ice. go with the M

No Rear Wheel drive car is good in the snow. You'd have a hard time climbing a 1% incline on a driveway. In the rain, not that bad. The tires are staggered and if you buy high quality tires you'll have deep grooves for shedding water. Careful of hyrdoplane in any car in the rain though.
